Sony PlayStation Vita Release Date

After days of speculation and guessing, Sony has recently announced the launch of its portable gaming console known as the Vita. This PlayStation was earlier known as Next Generation Portable (NGP) device or the PSP2. The news came as expected to the pleasing ears but the users will have to wait for another few months to enjoy the superior services of PlayStation Vita. This product involves different features from the previous introduction of PSF brand and represents the new direction in which Sony is heading to. This PlayStation is available at a very affordable price to the users and certainly will be able to compete with Nintendo 3DS.

The official release date for the PS Vita is February 22, 2012. But you can get it February 15 if you pre-order the PlayStation Vita First Edition Bundle.

A Wonderful Gaming Experience

Looking at the features provided with this product, we can easily say that Sony has done an incredible job in bringing it to the doorsteps of the customers. Some of the well known features include high definition videos, compact OLED screen, multi-touch enabled screen, dual stick control and many more. This device is easily compatible with PS3 version implying that you can play your game on PS3 and later on continue playing it on Vita. Sony has done a tremendous task of making it cross-platform compatible, a feature which is really difficult to beat.
Powerful Features

This PlayStation is equipped with such powerful features that it can shrink the differences between video entertainment and real life viewing. All this is possible because of the high profile hardware and software parts which form a part of this device. Whatever application it is being used for, be it games or videos or live streaming, everything will look stunning on this multi-touch screen with a resolution of 960×544. Everything on one platform, this PlayStation has the potential to easily surpass some of its closest competitors’ products such as Nintendo 3DS.

Wide Variety of Games

Sony is trying to incorporate wide ranges of games to be played on this device. Some of the popular games that users can enjoy are Dragon’s Crown, ModNation racers etc. Other games which can also be enjoyed are Killzone, Little Big Planet, Golden Abyss and many more. The motive behind this is to push location aware games in addition to social gaming on Vita. As of now, Sony is planning to launch two versions of PlayStation Vita. One is available at a cost of $249 and the other is slightly costlier marked at $299. While the first one employs Wi-Fi only feature, the latter is equipped with Wi-Fi and 3G features. The distribution responsibility has been given to AT&T in US.

Close to the Heart

Some of the other features that make it such a special device are LiveArea OS, differently shaped game keys, motion sensing feature, network connectivity for PlayStation gaming over the internet, inbuilt memory space which can be further enhanced using a memory card, compatibility with dozens of file types and many more. All this is available so conveniently at such an amazing price. Such is the magic of this product that it will really find a place in the heart of hardcore gamers and real gaming enthusiasts.
